Video Game Reviews of Street Fighter IV

Customer Review: Why buy if Super Street Fight IV is on the way?
Summary: 1 Stars

Capcom is all about milking the franchise, so it's no surprise that SUPER Street Fighter IV is launching 13 months after SF IV. A few "new" characters, lots of tweaking, and rock bottom low price to get you to buying this weak update. If they needed to tweak:

- The impressive new roster includes classic combatants from previous Street Fighter games like T. Hawk as well as all-new characters such as the mysterious and deadly female fighter, Juri.

- Super Street Fighter IV adds new Ultra Combos and advancements to the state of the art online matchmaking and online game play introduced in Street Fighter IV with numerous additional features

- Super Street Fighter IV takes many of the groundbreaking features introduced in Street Fighter IV and refines everything to deliver the ultimate vision of Street Fighter to fans the world over.

It's shouldn't be a new stand alone game, it should be a free expansion update for what is clearly a lack of game testing before it went to market.

Customer Review: Get the FIGHTSTICK
Summary: 5 Stars

Ok so I'm reading a lot of reviews that point out the complexity and sensitivity of the controls. When I first purchased this game when it came out, I had to backorder the MadCatz Fight Stick. I agree, that this game without the fight stick is impossible to master. The directional pads are just to strenuous on your thumbs, and the sequences are beyond difficult to hit on just the regular controller. I got frustrated, and put the game away in my library for 3 months. Then one day, the fight sticks arrived at my door, finally off of the initial stock back order. Since then, this game has produced some of the most entertaining times for my friends and I. Moves that were mild-difficult on the regular PS3 controller became easy and the harder moves actually became possible with some practice.

It's like anything else: If you put in the time, you will get results. The game becomes deeper as you become a more experienced player. Sure it's still fun if you want to throw it in once in a while and have a couple of fights with friends, but the real imagination and art of this game unravels the more you play.

Take my advice and get the fight sticks along with the game.

Customer Review: An ok improvement to the Street Fighter Standard.
Summary: 4 Stars

This is a fun way to relive the old Street Fighter experience with up-to-date graphics. A couple newer moves and characters. Other than that I wasn't terribly impressed. Oh, and the people that play online are pretty skilled at this game it seems. I liked Borderlands better, but for a good time feel free to call on this title.

Customer Review: Addictive and fun, but if you have a life you will su*k at this game
Summary: 4 Stars

You've seen dozen of reviews. But I gather if your still deciding to get this game now, you are not hardcore SF gamer but a casual one. Maybe some nostalgia your looking for.

Let me tell you I play this game 20 hours - a week!!!!
I'm slowing becoming an sf nerd. Half that time is in training mode trying to conquer complex combos. But its a futile lifestyle. At the end of the day, if you don't have a arcade stick you are at a serious disadvantage especially with the shark infested waters online. I opted to go with a mad catz fight pad. Twice as good as the PS pad, but 10 times worse than a stick.

Look, this game will gather dust if you don't have patience for people beating you up and learning from your hundreds of mistakes. This is my gripe with the game. Link combos require split second precision are inaccessible to most people and this is the only way to improve and be good at it.

Ask your self if your up to it.

Customer Review: disappointed player
Summary: 1 Stars

I was playing street fighter since the 80s. It was always my favorite game of all time. However this is the worst one they had come out. Graphic was too cartoonist to a point that it looks rough(all characters pack up with too much muscle looks fake). This is 2009 with a platform of PS3, I would have expected something alot better. This game lacks new moves; you can find the exact way of playing ryu as usual except this game response more akward. They even canceled some of the nice combo connections you can perform from the previous SF. Over all I played this game under suprise which gave me none.
