Video Game Reviews of Madden NFL 09Customer Review: Stopping the pass Summary: 3 StarsI've played every Madden since it was on the Genesis, Recently I've only played it on the ps2. I got a ps3 about a month ago and figured i'd give it a go on the next gen. Where to start? First the graphics are really great. I played one game in the rain and by the time the game was over there was so much mud on my players you couldn't see there numbers hardly, I thought that was nice. Like the title say it is almost impossible to stop the pass, no matter what play you call there is always a man open. I also don't like the way the game dumbs itself down if your not having a good game. But over all a pretty good game if my offensive linemen weren't idiots. Like my RT will bypass the DL in front of him to go for the DT that is 5 yards away. And the defense seems to know exactly what play you will call. Call a formation audible, no man in the formation will move or shift, but the defense will adjust to cover your play as if they know what you just called. Overall good game I just wish they didn't have exclusive rights to the NFL, Maybe some competition would make them work a little harder to get the bugs out that have plagued the series
since 2005.
Customer Review: I Don't See What The Big Deal Is Summary: 5 StarsEveryones giving this game a bad review, but I really don't see why people are so angry about this game, infact I think it's the best Madden yet. The graphics are superb, and the gameplay has actually gotten better. And as for the freezing problem everyone is having, mine hasn't froze up yet. Overall, this is a great Madden game, and if your looking for a quality football game to play, then go for it, Madden 09 is your best bet.
Customer Review: Awesome!!! Summary: 5 StarsThe shipping was super speedy, and also it came wrapped in newspaper so that if someone else wanted to open it and peek at what it was they, wouldnt have been able to see. THat was really great!
Customer Review: expectations Summary: 3 StarsI've bought madden since they first came around back in the early 90s. Recent years, I commited to only buying a copy if my team wins the superbowl... and what do ya know... BOOM! Grats Steelers. Previous to that I've been playing Madden 2006 on the Wii.
From 2006 to 2009, I expected better graphics, and selection menus. This game is only a year old, and I feel that they could have gone a lot further in polishing up what they already had from the previous year. The reason I still give it a good rating is that it is still fun to play, and has that good fun factor of beating up your friends and their teams when they come over. However; if you're expecting much more from the previous year, you might want to just commit to 2010 or beyond.
Customer Review: A Madden Must Have Summary: 4 StarsI have owned this game before, traded it, rented it and bought it again. It's safe to say that although it's like others, as far as gameplay goes, I just can't forget the feeling I got when I first stepped onto the newly designed field at invesco mile high and my jaw dropped. It's still the best looking of the series and much cheaper than the finely tweaked/tuned 2010 version. This game is one of the best madden experiences out there. And it's much easier for beginners. With the replay feature and simplified play calling, this might be the most intuitive madden game to date. Even the virtual training sim is very helpful. I think the poor reviews are from those who've been madden heads for the last 20 years. And in that case, I'd say you're burnt out and there's nothing they could do to satisfy you. Maybe once they're license expires and 2k can get back in the mix, things will be different. But if you're a casual gamer and love football, you can't go wrong with 09. I truly enjoy it. Still, the close ups in 06/07 we're really cool to see.
