Customer Review: Best Madden in a few years

For anyone who loves football, Madden 09 is a great choice for entertainment. The new elements added this year really aren't great, but the overall experience is worth your buck. The graphics have been really upgraded this time around and the grass looks far better than ever before. The commentary could use some work and at times it makes you wonder why a game named Madden doesn't have Madden as a main commentator. In any case, the game has some typical Madden issues such as Man-to-Man coverage being weak and deep bomb passes being far too easy to user-catch.
One of the best things about Madden 09 is that EA Sports updates the rosters week by week. Depending on how well players do week in and week out, their stats might be adjusted in many cases. However, now that the season is over and the superbowl has ended, the rosters are finalized. The online experience is very deep with play now and lobby being the means of finding players to compete with. The ladder system can really add to the competitive nature of the game, and since many issues such as interceptions being too prevalent and balls being thrown totally have been cured, this is a football game that is easy to recommend.

I'm an experienced Madden player and typically have a really fun time when playing. However, this years Madden has been extremely difficult for me to play. I typically give up 80-90% completion percentage to the opposing quarterback while throwing 3-4 int's per game myself. I cannot grasp the reason this is happening. For a while I just thought I needed to get used to the game but now I'm beginning to think I'm just plain bad at this game. Perhaps I'll stick to NCAA where I can compete with almost anyone and can actually complete a pass...to my own players.Customer Review: madden 09 PS3

i had looked forward to this game as you cant get american football games in spain,they seem very rare. i'm a big fan of american football and love the madden series and this one looked the bee's knees, but this one the game play is very poor and complexed and the vision is very poor my other madden games were all PS2. i still think madden 06 and 07 are the best. but in general im not happy with the game play on most PS3 games compared to the PS2.Customer Review: Worst Madden Yet!

This game is horrible. Madden has always been a promising football game when I have played it until know. This game will make you so angry because ever single time you throw the ball long the defenders will tip it or jump 3 FEET HIGH AND MAKE THE INTERCEPTION, EVERY TIME. Instead you will have to find a receiver that is wide open when you can't even see the whole field or get sacked. The francise isen't a how lot different and same with the superstar mode. They have put in a few new features like, better graphics and you can play as a new rookie in the NFL instead of making one. Thats about it. And if you haven't noticed they put Brett Favre in a Packers jersey. I suggest you get madden 05, 07 or 08 instead of this "GAME".Customer Review: So close yet so far away

Just a background on myself, I could care less what the graphics look like or the commentary it just doesn't matter to me as long as the game is realistic and it's like a real football game.
With that said, I've never seen a defense consistently have qb's average 80% or higher completion percentage every game. Even garbage qb's are impossible to stop even with constant pressure. I actually played a game against the rams with the eagles where bulger went 24 for 23 because of a glich in the replay system. His completion % was 104%, are you kidding me? Also, the computer never throws deep, ever. Any long pass is created by receiver YAC.
The issue is not just on the defensive side. I play on all madden with the updated rosters. I played a season with the Raiders and russell who has an accuracy rating of 76. I completed 69% of my passes, the top qb in the real NFL completed about 67%. In past years I would have just moved the qb accuracy slider, one problem that slider no longer exists.
The game could be good maybe even great if this passing wasn't an issue but it's so ridiculous that it makes the game unplayable in my opinion. EA needs to step up their game or they need change their "...it's in the game" trademark. EA duped me out of 60 buck again....dam you EA.
