Customer Review: some setbacks..
Summary: 4 Stars
I got addicted to this game within the first 10 minutes of playing it.. but throughout the game i found there are some things that you can't do that you can on the tony hawk series.. the main thing is that in Skate you can't get off of your board so you wont be able to incorporate that into your tricks.. another thing is that you can't do caspers which is one of favorite tricks to do being a Rodney Mullen fan.
Overall this game is great the online play is fun to playing S.K.A.T.E. vs some random person in the world.. This is definately the Tony Hawk killer because of the stick control its harder to do some tricks like it would be in real life.. [360 flip, laser flip, nollie hard flip...etc]
In Skate 2 which will be here Jan/Feb 09 i heard that you would be able to get off of your board but havent heard anything yet on doing caspers or extra tricks that were limited in this game. [even though this game is great the trick book doesnt go that deep in detail but the style and play is definatly a step up from the tony hawk series like i said before]
overall id recommend.. maybe not now though.. seeing that skate 2 will be coming out so soon so id just wait to get it unless you would like to have both games =]
