Customer Review: Functional, but little to no user-centered design

Read a few reviews of this product and you're going to get the impression the thing doesn't work from day 1. It's easy to understand why, as you really need an advanced degree to figure it out. If you read the (vague and error-ridden) instructions very, very carefully, you will ultimately get the thing to work properly. First, charge it for 2 hours. You have to wait about 10-15 minutes before the red "charging" light comes on, despite the fact that the instructions say it will only take about a minute to come on. Also, if you're using the PS3 to charge it, the system must be turned on. It will not charge while the PS3 is turned off. Just keep waiting, it will eventually respond.
Once it's charged for about 2 hours, you have to pair it to your PS3. Way more complicated than it should be, but again just follow the instructions to the letter. Once done, it's generally good enough for government work.
Whoever designed this unit should be fired. It's so difficult to get working that I'm surprised most people don't get the impression it just doesn't work at all. Oh, wait.
