Item arrived in excellent condition. I had to clip off a piece in order to attatch the side part, but that's becuase I have the 40gB model. Otherwise, item performs to its standards and specs. Would reccomend highly!!Customer Review: Cooling systems

So there I was thinking to myself WOW i'm going to get this super awesome cooling system for my PS3.. WRONG they send me what i thought was just the back 1/2 of the cooling system which turned out to be a completely differnet one. If I wanted a crappy cooling system I would have orderd the crappy one. I can't be bothered to send it back so its hooked up to my ps3 right now, does a decent job though.. Customer Review: Actually a good product!

It is true that the PS3 has not been known to overheat, I don't want to risk it when I am playing it for 4+ hours at a time. It was acutally very easy to install (just push one part of the cooler into the system until it snaps on and then put on the other part on top). It is nice that the new power switch is in front as it makes turning the system on and off easy. The fans do run loudly as the other reviewers have mentioned. At first this pissed me off and I wanted to return it, but then I realized that by turning the fan control at max for 30 seconds, this casued the fan's rotation to be smoother, then I could adjust the speed I wanted. The noise level was greatly reduced. In fact, except when the fan is at max, I can barely if at all hear the fan and when I get into the games I am playing, I forget there is a fan.
It is also true that you have to turn off the power switch to turn off the fan. But if you are that lazy where you cannot get up and walk like 7 feet to the system to turn it off, then maybe you should be doing other things (like exercising!!!).
Overall, I have noticed the system runs much cooler and I feel better that my $400 system is safer with a 20 dollar add-on. I would recommend bying it. If you have any questions, just leave a comment and I would be happy to answer it.
