ok so this thing does not fit at all on a 40 gig ps3 and they are aware of this and there still selling these.they should atleast print something on the box about it not fitting on a 40 gb system but they dont.but i still have it on my ps3 but thats because its not on straight and the little clips broke off even though it wasn't fault because in the directions it says to push until you hear a click or something like that.well anyway this does work pretty well as far as removing hot air from the system,thats why i gave it a 2 star.but it doesn't fit right on my 40gig system! :( wonder if they'll send me a redesigned replacement even though the little clips broke off?Customer Review: Save your money!!!

It's loud, works in theory but no evidence of it actually being beneficial, and the PS3 still got hot. Yes the the PS3 can get quite hot but not enough to for this thing and how annoying it is. Not only is it loud but the on/off for the PS3 is now slaved to this unit. Not such a bad thing you might say, but it is the same turning off your computer without putting it through the shut down process first. For those of that don't know what that does its very very VERY bad for the hard drive. So skip this product and just keep your PS3 in a well ventilated area and an occasional good burst of air from those computer duster cans and you should be good.Customer Review: Good initiative, bad judgement!

Fan blades were unbalanced and made horrible noises unless knocked around. If you want to charge your controllers you need to leave the fan on, not "cool". If something like this is ever engineered correctly I would love to buy it. Until then, don't waste your money, or time on this.Customer Review: Inexpensive, effective........LOUD!!!!!!!!

The Intercooler plugs on easily, looks great on the PS3 and I believe does an effective job doing what it's suppossed to: cooling the PS3. My only way of telling this is that the PS3's fan itself didn't seem to kick into high gear while this was being used. I bought this because I mainly use my PS3 for watching bl-ray movies and the PS3's fan, when on high, is fairly noticeable during quiet scenes. Buying this made that issue even worse. Even with the Intercooler set to the lowest fan speed it was far louder than the PS3 itself in high fan mode. So, if you have a noisy environment anyway and just play loud action games, this is a great inexpensive way to assure your PS3 stays a little cooler which, as with all electronics, will increase it's life span. If you use your PS3 for movie watching, this fan is completely unacceptable. I'm returning mine, but I give it 3 stars because it does cool the Ps3 and it's only 30 bucks.
