Customer Review: Great TV mount for both Eye & Kinect

I've had the PS3 Move since it came out and have had good luck with my Samsung UN55B7100 Led TV by simply hanging the Eye over the front of the bezel and allowing the weight of the cord to hold it steady. (Rotate the base around so the flat edge is against the bezel.)
I bought an Xbox 360 Kinect bundle yesterday, and did NOT get good results with the Kinect sensor placed on the TV stand due to space considerations & layout of my living room so I looked for options to mount it above the TV. Looked at the PDP TV stand for Kinect and ruled that out quickly due to bad reviews & watching the installation video on PDP's website. From that video it's clearly designed for TV's at least 3" thick - my Led TV is under 1" thick. Wall mounting is also out of the question again due to layout of the room.
I considered getting the PDP Kinect wall mount and using only the the piece that locks onto the Kinect base which I would attach to a scratch-built aluminum bracket that would bolt onto the TV's wall-mount attachment points. But then I read some people reporting great results with the PS3 Eye mount & velcro. So I picked one up at gamestop this afternoon, and a set of 3 2" x 4" velcro strips at wal-mart for $2.97.
And like others have said, it works PERFECTLY! The Kinect is absolutely rock-steady on my 55" TV, I can shake the TV front-to-back and neither the Kinect or the mount budges at all. I can put my finger on the side of the mount at the front of the TV and try to push the mount sideways and it doesn't move - instead the whole TV wobbles slightly on its pedestal. If the engineers at PDP had a brain, they would trash the Kinect TV mount and replace it with this exact same thing, but with the attachment that locks into the base of the Kinect instead of the slot for the Eye base.
The ONLY problem I had with this was getting the velcro on the base of the Kinect. The base has a rubber anti-skid pad on it and I was concerned the velcro wouldn't stick well to it. I was right, after pressing it firmly in place I was easily able to pry up a corner and pull it right off with thumb & index finger. This may have been an issue with the velcro I used, the instructions specifically said it was for use on "smooth surfaces" and NOT recommended for things like soft vinyl. Anyway I used a #10 x-acto blade to peel up the edge of the pad on the Kinect, and was able to peel it off in 5 minutes of careful work. Then cleaned it with rubbing alcohol, let it dry & the velcro stuck well.
Next I'll put a piece of velcro on the bottom of the Eye and I'll have ONE mount that is perfect for BOTH systems. And no need for tools to remove it ;)
