I held off buying any console because I could never get used to playing FPS's with the console controllers. I just needed the precision and quickness of a mouse and keyboard. The PS3 Eagle Mouse and Keyboard Converter comes darned close to the PC mouse and keyboard. When I tried this controller out I did get precision of a mouse. However, because games are made with a controller deadzone in mind you won't get the snappy response as opposed to a conventional PC mouse. It comes close, but not quite. Mind you, the inputs you make on the mouse or keyboard is a 1 to 1 input and response. There is no lag. Just the slower panning of the mouse.
There are many caveats when it comes the Eagle Eye and the PS3. Not all mice are compatible with this unit. That is why I bought the Logitech G500 Programmable Gaming Mouse which is widely known to work and perform well with the Eagle Eye controller.

Now for those that complain about jagged vertical movements when zoomed in when playing an FPS game, you must adjust 3 different things. The mouse DPI, the game's sensitivity, and the threshold within the PS3 Eagle Eye Mouse and Keyboard Converter. For Uncharted 2 I set the game's sensitivity to max. The G500's DPI set at 800 I believe. When I zoom in and want to snipe I turn up the DPI on my mouse to 1600. Set the Eagle Eye X sensitivity to 5 and the Y sensitivity to 7, I believe. The movements are butter smooth. Thanks to the logitech mouse with on the fly DPI switching I can now play console FPS's with the mouse and keyboard.
You will not have six axis capabilities in games like Killzone 2. Honestly though, the six axis movement is gimmicky.
I did polish off Uncharted 2 using the Eagle Eye and I can say that my experience was great! Getting headshots was easy. Conquering the crushing difficulty levels was not too hard because I could use my trusty old mouse.
A warning though about other games. I was able to play Metal Gear Solid 4 using the device. However, sneaking was impossible. You only move one speed when using the Eagle Eye, and that is full out run. So I was forced to use the PS3 controller when playing Metal Gear Solid 4.
Honestly, I do prefer the PS3 controller when it comes to action games like God of War. Games like God of War do not require much precision. Combos feel better with the controller. However, FPS's that do require precision and less combo button pressing would benefit from using the Eagle Eye Converter.
Another perk with the Eagle Eye controller is that there is a good community supporting the device. A good community means great feedback and advice to optimally configuring the device.
I do not own other console mouse emulator hardware so I cannot make any comparisons. I did a lot of research and it seemed that the Eagle Eye Mouse had the most positive reviews. Thank god I made the right decision.
