Video Game Reviews of Virtua Tennis 3Customer Review: I'm hooked Summary: 5 StarsAlthough there are minor improvements which could be made - overall the game is challenging in all levels - however, too hard to have ton of fun.
It's also one of those games you could play with your gf - as you can play double team or vs. each other.
Customer Review: Nicely done Summary: 5 StarsThis games is exceptionally well done - from the graphics, to the fluidness, and to the overall play. Very realistic and enjoyable. Highly recommend it. Not much different from PS2 version but still nice.
Customer Review: Fun to play, very realistic and great graphics Summary: 5 StarsI already had the previous game on PSP and I loved it. Now, this one comes out on PS3 and it is soooo gooooood. Has excellent game play, very real movements, graphics are breathtaking. There is nothing wrong I can say about this game. If you like Tennis, this is a must have.
The best tennis game out!
Customer Review: Great game for all level of tennis game fans Summary: 5 StarsI bought this game about a week ago and haven't been able to put it down since. I played a lot of tennis games on different consoles, I'd say the best one I played was Virtual Tennis 2 on Xbox (Much better than the ps2 version), but since I don't own an Xbox I was only able to play that at a friend's place, my favorite tennis game for PS2 was Top Spin 2, and now comes this game...
Pro:
-Sharp graphics, better than the Xbox 360's version.
-Broad difficulty range, this game is truly for tennis fans of all levels
-Challenging play, requires GOOD skills to win on the hardest level
-Good music and commentary
-Short game loading time compared to Top Spin 2
Con:
-No online game playing, as was stated by others
-The computer tends to "dive" for the ball a lot, but this can be avoided
To me this is definitely the best tennis game out there right now, although I haven't really tried to play the Xbox's version. The game loads a LOT faster than Top Spin 2 (My biggest headache with that game, it loads slow even on the faster PS3 system), I don't really care too much about the lack of online play since I like it a lot more with having friends over and play 4 people doubles team. Unlike Top Spin 2, the skills required for this game is high if you want to beat it on the hardest level, I started out at Normal and was able to breeze through, I beat Hard on the first try also but in 3 close sets, and now I'm on Very Hard and I was only able to win 1-2 games per set. The "dive" problem can be avoided if you get yourself closer to the ball before hitting a button, so the player "swings" at the ball in a closer range, it'll take a bit to master that since coming from Top Spin 2 I tend to press the button right after the ball left the opponent's court. Overall this is a really fun game, I'd recommand this to all the tennis fans out there.
Customer Review: Addictive, challenging game play Summary: 4 StarsThis is the most polished Virtua Tennis in the series.
I played the older versions in PS2 and PSP. Game play wise, VT3 actually is the same as those older versions. You get the latest and greatest tennis stars and new mini games to power up your custom player. The interesting thing is in VT3 the computer AI is quite smart. You cant cruise through the game like before. Have to use some brain. Thats the nice part.
Other than part, its pretty much the same game as the previous versions with better graphics (1080p!)
If you never play Virtua Tennis before, then I highly recommend this game to you. Its easy to learn and play. Its fun and addictive.
