Folklore is a beautifully done title for the Playstation 3. Everything about it from the creatures, story, artwork, and music is painted wonderfully on its' wire frame canvas.
The controls are precise, and comfortable. It utilizes the six axis nicely, but is not over whelmed by it. The motion sensor complements your normal game play.
The setting is modern day London in a town where a rift exists that lets the living and the dead cross between each other's world's. Your character can cross over into the Netherworld, to accomplish tasks, meet people, and complete missions.
While they have no powers on their own you can 'capture' monsters called 'folks' and gain their powers. Each has a specific need that you can fulfill to level up that ability.
Divided into several different stages playing out with the story - It's sort of a mixture between and action and an RPG. The story plays out like a book, but you are definately a live action character. There is no turn based attack methods.
Overall this is an excellent title for the Playstation 3 with great replay value! As you can download new missions, and even make your own dungeons on the Playstation Network.

I bought this because it looked really good. And that it does. The graphics and visuals are amazing, as is the general concept; a doorway into parallel universes with various, interesting new species. That's where the fun ended for me.
While my husband enjoyed this game, I found it to be annoyingly redundant. He kind of likes redundant stuff, I loathe it. It seemed like you just had to do the same thing over and over.
The plot itself was okay, but could have been better. But overall, this is better left to the kiddies, and I wouldn't recommend it for the avid roleplayer.

I was expecting more of this game. Like one of the other reviewers mentions there is about 90% of the story presented in a kind of comic book style in the cut scenes, which is really disappointing for a PS3 game. Were they too cheap to animate and hire voice actors for all the cut scenes?? I did play the game through to the end (hence the 3 stars), so I got my money's worth from it but I won't ever play it again. If you are a RPG player then I think you will find this game a little weak. It's no where near the standard of a Final Fantasy game (not even close)!Customer Review: Stunning visuals!

The visuals in this game are stunning. It makes you to pause the gameplay for a while and admire the environment. The gameplay itself is a bit slow paced, but it depends on whether you want to release all the karmas or whether you want to collect all the special items. It's a neat game with very smooth graphics. I played it on an HDTV capable of giving maximum output. The storyline itself may seem somewhat boring. The enemies are not hard to beat, but they tend to be repetitive.
Overall, if you want a lot of hours of gameplay, want to see awesome visuals, excellent music, and a cool game, this is for you. Slasher fans will not like this game. The replay value is also more because you can play the game with multiple characters. A good game to show-off your PS3 to your friends. I found this game to have a lot of similarities with the Final Fantasy series in which you defeat the enemies using magic powers, attacks, and the like.
It's a slow game, but gets addictive as you go along. Definitely a must buy for the PS3.
