Video Game Reviews of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue

Customer Review: Great, but...
Summary: 4 Stars

So i got this game for my birthday along with the Logitech G25 Racing Wheel and Playseats Evolution Gaming Seat to try and get "the ultimate playing experience". Now this game is a lot of fun, and it is challenging enough to keep you occupied for a few days. It is the prologue so I will not ripe into how the game isn't very long.

Graphics: Let's face it, Gran Turismo is known for having some of the best graphics in video games. Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (GT5P) is no exception, the graphics in this game are great. Although, like the previous Gran Turismo games, when you hit something (whether it be a wall or another car) the damage will NOT appear on the car. (who cares?) The graphics are great and if you happen to have a playstation 3 hooked up with an HDMI cable you are set.

Entertainment: Yes driving in the same few levels over and over can be boring. GT5P has tried to overcome that by adding drifting to their arcade mode. Also new is their online ranking, players can compete and send their scores online to see where they rank. Also very cool is they added Top Gear segments and although I've had the game for a while now, I never get around to actually wanting to load one in fear it takes forever (I have every episode on Itunes anyways). The cars in the game are pretty cool and even include the Nissan GT-R. As for difficulty, I would not say its very hard, but it is the Prologue so I was not expecting it to be.

Realism: The realism of the Gran Turismo games is always important. GT5P is for the most part pretty real, if your going 80 mph around a turn and you let off the gas you will spin and drift. When driving from the "Inside the car" view it still seems a little fake, the graphics although great get a little cheesy. When you watch the replay of the lap it seems like a professionally done car commercial.

All in all, I would recommend this. Its not gonna keep you entertained for months, but it will make do until the actual release of Gran Turismo 5. If thats not enough, I do recommend the racing seat, it is awesome and the wheel and gas are key. Honestly, what's the point in buying a racing game if your not even going to use pedals and a steering wheel?

Customer Review: Amazing graphs, but not the best racing game.
Summary: 4 Stars

If you are familiar with Gran Turismo style, go for it, since it has so many cars and the graphs are unbelievable. But if you haven't played any Gran Turismo yet, try it first, or I would suggest you buy Burnout (the latest one). It is not so professional, but it is a lot of fun!
A good tip for GT would be downloading "save games" from the web. Then you can have all the cars immediately unlocked.
Oh, one more thing: what desappointed me is that this game doesn't have many tracks (I forgot how many it has, but I bet other racing games have more).

Customer Review: GT5 is awesome
Summary: 4 Stars

its like an awesome prolonged demo. Lots of fun and it is just to get you ready for the real one.
