There are some great reviews on here, so I will be brief. This is like a 3rd person shooter/fighter hybrid. At times you play as the redhead and fight with a sword. At other times you fight as this other gal and fight with a kind of Gatling crossbow of sorts. So the gameplay gets broken up enough so that Heavenly Sword never gets too monotonous. Some of the prompts are wonky at times (or maybe I'm just uncoordinated), but all in all the controls respond pretty flawlessly. The storyline is quite compelling. The characters are well thought-out. There is some good humor and drama. The game doesn't take itself too seriously. It's also a very accessible game -- the kind you can just pick up and start playing right away without much thought. The different fighting stances start out simple and get more intricate as the game progresses. If you like games like Resident Evil 5, Metal Gear Solid 4 and Madworld, I would recommend Heavenly Sword as a must-have for your collection. It's a real gem that not a lot of people talk about anymore.Customer Review: Beautiful Game Play

This game is beautifully crafted. The story line is engaging and well worth your time. The game has a lovely heroine and the graphics are very visually appealing.
The game play took a bit of getting used to, including the balance of my wireless controller with button combination. The only bad thing I can say about the game is that it's definitely a 'button masher', and the control of the bow and arrow system took a lot of getting used to. It's not un-doable, but it isn't simple, as it relies mostly on the tilt of the controller and the gamer's ability to move quickly AND fluidly to achieve satisfactory arrow flight.
All in all, I would recommend this game to a friend.

Very good game i would have to put this on the must have list if you have a ps3 this game is very well done some of the best gameplay and graphics ever and besides that the story is so well brought toggether its like playing a movie it is that good! trust me if your thinking about this one get you will not regret it this is one of the greatest games you can have 4 ps3!
