Customer Review: COMING BACK FROM HALFTIME

Killzone 2 for the PS3 was poised to accomplish many things:

1.To have the greatest graphics ever seen in videogames.
2.To provide a robust multiplayer experience.
3.To knock Halo off the top of the FPS hill and give Sony the edge in the FPS market.
4.To offer such a cinematic and jaw dropping single player campaign that not even "Call of Duty" could rival it.

For the most part it succeeded,but like all great games,there's at least one flaw.Killzone 2 probably does have the best graphics that you'll see on the market,even games being released in 2010 still can't compare.And while graphics aren't everything,it's truly amazing to play something that looks as real as Killzone 2.The sound quality is also excellent,just crank up your surround sound and get sucked right into the fight.The weapon variety is good,but the fact that you can only carry 2 weapons at a time and the bulkiness of some of them might annoy certain players.The single-player campaign is comprised of 11 levels filled with some of the coolest gunfights and set pieces that you'll see in an FPS.The storyline isn't oscar material but the voicework and writing are definately better than most games of the genre.However,it's the length of the campaign that is the games flaw.Just when you're getting deeply engrossed in the story and thinking "oh man,this is about to get insanely good"...then it's over,after just 5 hours or so.After so many years of development,you'd hope that the campaign would last longer than a single dedicated play.Killzone 2's multiplayer appears well designed and thoroughly enjoyable.Though I don't play games online,I did explore the games multiplayer features with a friend and must say that anyone who is a fan of the Modern Warfare series will love Killzone 2's multiplayer.There are ranking systems/objective based matches/good map variety and graphics that look equal to and almost better than the campaign.The only gripe is that the multiplayer appears to be strictly online and any local 2 player activity seems out of the question.All in all,even with some minor flaws it's still one of the best FPS's out there and a game that any PS3 owner would be crazy to not pick up.

I'm slightly surprised to see so many 5-star reviews for this one. I really don't understand why, with games like Modern Warfare, etc.. out there, people would rave about Killzone 2. This is a very generic shooter that follows a typically linear path that guides you to the next location. They make everything so obvious as to the objectives, like "shoot out that bridge", I mean come on. I found several of the guns to be useless and the head bobbing constantly as you move around makes you sick. Overall I think 3-stars perfectly sums this up. After you play for a few hours, you sit there and think....eh kind of boring. There's no wow factor at all other than graphics, but in this day and age graphics are the easy part...give me the game play!!

I was put off on this game over some of the other reviews i read.
but now that i have played the campaign twice and logged over 25+
plus hours in the Online multiplayer I have to say this is a PS3
classic, The controls are easy to get a hang of. I had played the demo
on the Playstation Network for months before my purchase and had no
Idea that hitting R3 would make you run. If you don't run you feel like your walking
through the mud with lead boots.

The campaign was excellent, Final boss took me back to the day when games were a challenge.
Graphics are top notch on this game. Not very vibrant colors but the darker colors used adds to the
whole War zone/warfare atmosphere.

Well that's that............ buy it and enjoy it. You wont be disappointed.

Customer Review: Very fun FPS

As a fan of the original Killzone, I had to get Killzone 2, and it was amazing. Graphics were awesome, gameplay was great, weapon selection was diverse, everything you would want in a FPS.

Only problem.. The controls are slow, basically when you play alot of FPS games for a while and then you play KZ2, it will feel like when you turn your camera, that its slow..

This makes online play very difficult. But, other than that, this is a very great game, a must have for Killzone fans.
