I recently acquired a PS3 mainly for the upcoming release of the game "Heavy Rain, though in the meantime I decided to check out the other main attractions for the system. Valkyria Chronicles and Metal Gear Solid 4 are the first games that I played and they were nothing more than movies with some interactive parts and I starting to suspect that the entire system was filled with nothing but interactive movies. My fears were suddenly nullified after playing LittleBigPlanet. Honestly, this game looked like a lot of unsubstantiated hype but it's the most fun that I've had with the new generation of console gaming (and I played a lot of the X-Box 360 games). The game is challenging without being annoying, and when you become frustrated with the main game the online community levels help to alleviate any stress. There is also an infinite amount of replay value contained in this game. Don't like any of the levels? Create your own! Seriously, the level creator is incredibly deep, intuitive, and accessible to any gamer. Not to mention, people have created in games in pretty much any genre as well. This is a great game. The one downside I had was they sent me a European copy of the game. So I had to create a European profile to download any add-on's that kinda sucks. It took me a while to figure out that was my problem. But its a great game to invite your friends in and have a good laugh and online play is unlimited with possiblitys and you can create your own crazy worlds.Customer Review: Great game for creative kids who like to build!

There are plenty of reviews of the "game play" part of the game, so what I wanted to make sure people understand is the importance of the level creation part. If your kid loves to build things, make contraptions or is already hooked on Legos and Crazy Machines, then this is a great game for them to expand on that theme. We have Crazy Machines, a PC game where you can build and fix all kinds of contraptions, and this is a great next step for him. You can make your own games with cars, elavators... set up your own puzzles and races. It's also a good beginning lesson in physics! I don't think my son has played the actual "game" since the first week, but he LOVES the level creator.
So, if you are hesitant to let your 7+ age kid play games, at least let them play with the level creator in this game. It is a great creative learning tool.

A really fun game with lots of replay value. The campaign is pretty long but it's so good that you're sad when it ends. I'm in the middle of making a crazy level myself...so it's definitely still fun after you finish.Customer Review: a bit disappointed

i gotta admit this game is very cute and creative... but i just felt like this game is totally overly hyped. definitely a great game for kids i guess. not so much for adults.
