Video Game Reviews of PlayStation 3 Component AV CableCustomer Review: Improved PS2 image on HDTV Summary: 5 StarsWe recently replaced a tube TV with a 720p LCD TV. When we hooked up our PS2 I was unpleasantly surprised with how jagged the images were from our games (Ratchet and Clank, Final Fantasy, etc.). It was pretty much unusable. I found some good help on the internet and followed the recommendations I found to a) Hook up PS2 to HDTV using a component cable and b) adjust the output of the PS2 to 480i and see if that improves the image.
This cable improved the image quality to an acceptable level so I can actually play my PS2 games on the TV. I am very happy with this product.
Customer Review: Pretty Good Cables Summary: 4 StarsGood cables for cheap HD option. Got mine about a year ago, worked fine for awhile, then a small problem occurred. The cable must have broke inside because occasionally if the cable moved too much, I lost audio and/or video and would have to move the cable around for awhile to get them back.
The HD looks just as good as my MediaBridge HDMI and Sony HDMI do (my TV only outputs 1080i). Other than the problem that happened to me, its a great HDMI alternative cable at a reasonable price.
Customer Review: Smooth Sailing for PS2 again Summary: 4 StarsMy PS2 (SCPH 30001 "Fat") looked terrible using the standard composite cable into my Sony Bravia tv. Sounds were popping and hissing and the picture was too dark to enjoy any game I had.
This component cable took care of all of that in a hurry. That is, after I switched around the two red colored cable ends. If you buy this cable and you've got color streaks or ghosting.. try switching the red cables around.
These cables brought back crisp pictures and clean sound. Makes the PS2 playable again and 'durn sexy' on a big screen. The PS3 looks good, too.
Also, I've seen it a dozen times in the reviews before I forgot that you have to change your PS2 settings for Y, CB/PB, CR/PR. It only takes 30 seconds to fix that, but if you switch out cables and don't change it from RGB output, you won't hear or see anything. Easy fix. You don't have to change the display ratio if you don't want to, I use Full because I paid for a whole tv. :)
Also, while I'm at it, if you're getting scared out of buying these cables because people are telling you that you PS2 isn't capable of 'progressive scan' output and it won't work, don't be. None of that is going to keep you from being able to play your PS2 on your HDTV with these cables. A lot of those reviewers don't know what they're talking about. There is absolutely no problem with the output from the Fat PS2s.
Customer Review: Works great! Summary: 4 StarsI am happy with the purchase of this cable set. I use it to connect the PS3 to a 32" Visio LCD and have it running at 1080p. Quality seems reasonable and I have had no trouble with the connections.
Customer Review: Works like it should Summary: 5 StarsI bought these a few months ago for my PS2 which is the old fat one. It works perfectly, pictures are much clearer. Recommended.
