Video Game Reviews of Assassin's Creed

Customer Review: Medieval cities, free running, hidden blade assassinations = great fun!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a great open world game with solid gameplay. The storyline might be a little predictable...I guessed the twist coming after only about halfway through the game. Still the overall enjoyability of the game makes up for it.
Altair can climb almost any surface and the free running ability is very cool. The graphics and environment are beautiful. I was very impressed with the graphics when Altair first rode into Jerusalem. The swordplay can be somewhat repetitive...countering an opponents attack can be fun though. The hidden blade assassinations are very enjoyable. Altair's freerunning abilities are the best part of this game.
My only complaint is that Altair can not swim. He is supposedly the greatest assassin but does not possess the simple skill of swimming? Really? This inability is particularly frustrating when you must chase an assassination target through the docks without falling into the water. I'm glad they corrected this annoyance for the release of Assassin's Creed II. Even after defeating the final boss and the credits you can re-enter the animus and explore the cities and countryside again in search of the flags you may have missed.

Customer Review: One of the greatest games of all time
Summary: 5 Stars

This has got to be one of Ubisoft's best games. Great action, interesting story, and overall an awesome game. Anybody that has a PS3 or Xbox 360 should definitely play this game.

Customer Review: Tough Decision
Summary: 4 Stars

Alright. If you're like me, you are on the fence about getting this and are looking for any advice as to what your decision should be. I went through many review saying the gameplay can be repetitive, the assassinations are the same, but there is a good story. Personally, I didn't mind many of the things they called repetitive, such as: investigations, viewpoint climbs, and assassinations.

Investigation: You do this before each assassination. You have to climb viewpoints to find people with information about your target. then you find them and do one of a couple things: eavesdrop (the easiest), interrogate (requires following someone for 10 seconds-10 minutes, beating the crap out of them, them talking, then you killing them. Later in the game it take far longer than in the beginning.), Informer missions (other assassins saying they can't do their job and need you to do it. Either going and getting flags--the worst of all investigations--or killing people without being noticed--not as good as you'd think), and Pickpocketing (the second easiest).
After a while of playing through the game you'll find yourself ignoring the informer missions altogether, and maybe ignoring the interrogation missions. This is alright, but by far the longest, and most annoying part of the game.

Viewpoints: Personally I enjoyed this as synchronizing with viewpoints simply looks fantastic, especially the big two in Acre. I can see why they would say it's repetitive, but the payoff is simply too good, even if it isn't very believable.

Assassinations: Most of the time, you'll end up in a fight among you, and 30 other guards while you're trying to kill your target. While this may seem annoying...well, it can be. However, it still enjoyable to play.

Misc: Other than the flag missions, the fact water=death is probably what I hate the most. Otherwise, assassinating people is fun, and you'll likely end up murdering civilians because they're annoying you, or simply because you're a bit blood thirsty.

Story: Really intriguing, while the Desmond scenes may seem like a bothersome intermission, the ending is totally worth it.

Final thoughts: Get it. At $18 dollars, it easily makes up for the faults.

very good game still playing some levels taht i havent done everything on them wating to get part 2 very soon

Customer Review: great game...tough in areas...
Summary: 3 Stars

This is a great game but you really have to master your moves...I was coasting along until near the end...had I not taken a break and come back to work on my counter-moves, I probably wouldn't have finished! The game's tasks are very repetitive after a while. For a 2007 game, it is great...for 2009/2010, it is average. I finished the game and did enjoy it...still can't figure out how I killed the last guy, but who cares...I'm ready for Creed 2...should be fun as well...get the game and dedicate some time...it's enjoyable!
