Customer Review: Not bad for the price - could be better with inexpensive changes

This stand is a good bit less expensive than other wheel stands and does work fairly well if you're sitting on a couch to use your racing wheel. However, the bars that hold the stand above your lap could stand to be a good bit longer for adults - or even better, adjustable for height just like the main support bar is for length. As my couch is a little spongy, I have to put pillows beside my legs to get wheel high enough to be comfortable. Also, the mounting plate that the racing wheel attaches to should be about twice as thick to allow the clamps to tighten fully. My wheel tends to slip off without much tugging. I intend to drill a few holes and mount a thicker board to this plate to either get the clamps tighter or enable me to use the screw mounting capability of the wheel.
Overall, the product is reasonably well made and a good value for the price, but could be even better with a few inexpensive tweaks.

The Xlerator Wheel Stand is a metal stand that holds video game steering wheels in a comfortable and stable driving position. This stand can be used in your living room with about any sofa or chair. It lifts up and stands on an extra leg that makes it easier to get in and out of your chair. The pedals flip up making it easy to store upright in a corner or closet. The unique design of the Xlerator Wheel Stand mates the steering wheel and the pedals as one unit making it very stable. The pedals sit in a metal pan that holds them steady and has three adjustments for height. Stand is made from 16 gauge steel tubing and sheet metal, welded and powder coated gloss black for a durable lasting finish. Quality rubber leg tips protect furniture. Three position telescoping adjustable neck slider makes it very adjustable for different body sizes and driving styles. Will work with the Logitech Driving Force GT, Driving Force Pro, DriveFX and many other clamp type wheels. Adapter kits are available for the Logitech G25-G27 also the Microsoft Xbox 360 Racing Wheel. Do not put out big bucks for a racing chassis that takes up half your living room or a setup that will allow the pedals to move or has a pole between your legs. The Xlerator Wheel Stand is the best value on the market for steering wheel stands and will help you take your driving games to the next level. Perfect set up for Playstation 3, Grand Turismo 5 and Xbox 360, Forza Motorsports 3.
